Being Paleo?

Paleo is often mistaken as a diet.  Most diets are short-term and typically ineffective (depending on the diet and the participant).  In fact, paleo is a lifestyle.  A complete life-change from the S.A.D (Standard American Diet).  By altering your daily food habits you can easily prevent and halt numerous degenerative diseases. Incredible, right?

The idea behind "being paleo" is to eat the way humans did before the agricultural revolution came in to play (about 10,000 years ago).  We hunted for fresh, wild game and gathered seasonal fruits and vegetables.  Our ancestors were thriving but things quickly changed when unnatural, ready-to-eat foods became the hype and our lifestyles changed for the worst (and remain to change) dramatically.

What to eat: grass-fed meats, wild-caught fish, eggs, loads of organic vegetables, some raw nuts and seeds and seasonal fruits
What to avoid: grains, legumes, dairy, sugar
